이전에는 제대모에서 제약회사 영업에 관한 글을 많이 썼었습니다. 반복적인 질문이 많아서 한 번에 해결하고자 했었는데, 당시에는 마구잡이로 일기처럼 글을 썼던 것 같아 이번에는 더 내용을 정리하여 전해드립니다.
우선, 영업과 마케팅을 중점으로 글을 쓰고 있으니 이를 감안해 주시기 바랍니다. 또한, 제 경험과 주관적인 의견을 기반으로 하니 참고 바랍니다.
요즘에 가장 불편하고 안타까운 질문은 "스펙 평가 부탁 드립니다"라는 것입니다. 왜냐하면 어떻게 다급해도 나의 평가를 회사 면접관이 아닌 외부인들에게 부탁하는 것은 마음이 불편하기 때문입니다.
스펙에는 정답이 없습니다. 중요한 것은 내가 지원하는 자리에 얼마나 적합한가입니다. 그러므로 스펙을 평가하기 전에 어떤 회사, 직무, 직급에 관한 정보가 있어야 최소한의 의견을 드릴 수 있을 것입니다.
예전에 언급했듯이 서류는 최소한의 자격을 갖추었는지를 확인하는 것일 뿐입니다. 이과 분야인 나의 경우, 약학, 생명과학, 유전학 등과 관련된 이과적 배경이 유리합니다.
돈을 들이지 않고도 회사 입사 뿐만 아니라 이후의 커리어 개발을 위해서도 영어 점수가 중요합니다. 토익 기준으로 최소 800을 기대합니다.
서류 작성은 몇 차례 실패했는데 왜 광탈일까요? 이 부분에 대해서도 스스로 돌아보는 것이 필요합니다. 취업은 나와 회사 간의 고용 관계이기 때문에 회사에서 원하는 능력을 가지고 있는지 객관적으로 판단해야 합니다.
이력서를 작성할 때는 자신의 경험들이 지원하는 자리와 어떻게 연결되는지 설명할 수 있어야 합니다. 면접은 준비의 정도에 따라 결정되는데, 구글처럼 특이한 기업이 아니라면 기본적인 질문들은 예상할 수 있습니다. 연습이 살길이라고 생각합니다.
마지막으로 제대모를 적극 활용하세요. 필요한 정보는 대부분 있고, 지원하려는 회사의 선배들도 많습니다. 밥이나 커피 사면서 물어보면 외면하지 않을 것입니다.
스터디를 모집하고 유료로 조언을 하는 경우도 많아지고 있습니다. 그러나 최소한 검증된 분들에게 서비스를 받기를 권장하고, 그렇지 않더라도 스스로 질문을 만들어 연습하고 녹화해서 셀프 모니터링하는 것도 좋습니다.
많은 후배들이 스펙 평가에 매몰되어 안타깝지만, 미리미리 준비하여 목표를 이루시길 바랍니다.

The most uncomfortable and regrettable question these days is, “Could you evaluate my qualifications?” It’s uncomfortable because asking outsiders, rather than company interviewers, to evaluate oneself feels awkward.
There’s no definitive answer regarding qualifications. What matters is how well-suited you are for the position you’re applying for. Therefore, before evaluating qualifications, you need information about the company, role, and level to provide even a minimal opinion.
As mentioned before, resumes merely verify basic qualifications. In my case, having a scientific background related to pharmacy, life sciences, genetics, etc., is advantageous.
Even without spending money, English proficiency is crucial not only for job entry but also for future career development. I expect a minimum TOEIC score of 800.
Regarding repeated failures in resume writing, self-reflection is necessary. Employment is a contractual relationship between you and the company, so objectively assess whether you possess the abilities the company desires.
